Strategic People Partners | Part-Time to Near Full-Time | 25–40 Hours/Week
Strategic People Partners is looking for an experienced People Operations professional who can help run the day-to-day work of a growing people consulting company.
About Strategic People Partners
Strategic People Partners is a Fractional Chief People Officer practice serving churches, ministries, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations. We work at the executive level to help organizations clarify leadership, reduce friction, and build people systems that actually support performance and culture.
Role Overview
This role sits at the intersection of People Operations, business operations, project management, and executive support. You will work closely with the Owner/Fractional Chief People Officer and People Operations Consultant to keep client work moving, maintain strong People Operations systems, coordinate priorities across the team, and make sure important work gets all the way to finished.
This is not a role for someone who needs each next step assigned. We are looking for someone who can take a goal, conversation, client need, or partially completed project, determine what needs to happen next, organize the work, and move it forward. You will have access to the information and context needed to make good decisions and will be trusted to solve problems independently while knowing when something truly requires the Owner's involvement.
The role also provides direct executive support to the Owner, including calendar management, communications, meeting preparation, prioritization, and follow-up. Executive support is an important part of the position, but this role is broader than a traditional Executive Assistant position.
What You'll Do
- Own People Operations execution across SPP clients, including employee files, onboarding and offboarding, payroll preparation support, recruiting coordination, performance processes, routine employee documentation, HR systems, and other ongoing People Operations needs.
- Manage projects from conversation to completion. Translate meetings, ideas, and decisions into organized next steps, owners, timelines, follow-up, and finished deliverables.
- Maintain visibility across client engagements and proactively identify deadlines, missing information, risks, and next steps before they become urgent.
- Coordinate the operational flow of SPP, keeping priorities, systems, files, processes, and team commitments organized and moving.
- Manage the Owner's calendar and scheduling as needed, helping protect time for client-facing and strategic work while ensuring important meetings, commitments, and follow-up are handled.
- Support and manage communications, including monitoring priorities, drafting professional correspondence in the Owner's voice, preparing responses, and handling routine communication independently when appropriate.
- Prepare for and follow through after meetings, making sure decisions become actions rather than disappearing into meeting notes.
- Work directly with clients and team members to gather information, coordinate work, answer routine People Operations questions within your knowledge and authority, and keep projects moving.
- Maintain high-quality People Operations records and documentation, including employee files, templates, trackers, SOPs, and client-facing materials.
- Improve how SPP works. Notice inefficient or inconsistent processes, recommend better approaches, and implement systems that make the company easier to operate as it grows.
- Provide quality control across operational work, catching missing details, inconsistencies, incomplete work, or potential problems before deliverables reach the client.
- Own the follow-up. When another person is temporarily holding up a project, continue tracking it and driving it toward completion rather than allowing it to disappear.
What Success Looks Like
- You know what is happening across SPP without needing the Owner to reconstruct it for you.
- Client People Operations work is accurate, organized, and consistently moving forward.
- Meetings and conversations turn into clear action without the Owner needing to personally manage every next step.
- The Owner's calendar, communications, commitments, and operational priorities are managed thoughtfully and proactively.
- You solve routine problems independently and bring forward the issues that genuinely require executive judgment.
- Files, systems, workflows, and documentation are current and easy for the team to use.
- Clients experience SPP as responsive, organized, thoughtful, and exceptionally reliable.
- Very little falls through the cracks because you naturally see what still needs to happen.
What This Role Requires
Previous professional experience in Human Resources or People Operations is required. This person needs enough HR knowledge and experience to understand the work, recognize what matters, and execute routine People Operations responsibilities without being taught HR from the beginning.
We are looking for someone with strong judgment, professional maturity, project management skills, written communication skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of personal ownership.
You are likely a strong fit if you naturally create order from complexity, figure things out before asking someone else to solve them, communicate early when something is off track, and get genuine satisfaction from seeing work completely finished.
You must also be comfortable working closely with an entrepreneurial Owner whose work moves quickly across multiple organizations and priorities. The right person will help create structure around that pace without requiring everything to slow down first.
Experience supporting executives, managing projects, coordinating HR operations, or working in a consulting or professional-services environment is strongly valued.
Workplace & Client Environment
- SPP primarily serves churches, Christian ministries, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations. This role calls for someone comfortable working closely with faith based clients and in environments where Christian faith is openly expressed.
- Prayer and conversations about faith are a normal part of our workplace and many of our client environments.
- This role requires the ability to serve clients professionally and respectfully within their faith based missions, cultures, and values.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform primarily computer based work for extended periods, including frequent typing, reading, video meetings, and use of standard office technology.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry office materials or equipment up to approximately 20 pounds.
- Ability to travel locally on occasion for meetings, client work, or team gatherings.
How to Apply
Send the following to Info@strategicpplpartners.com:
- A current resume.
- A short writing sample (one to three pages). Anything you wrote, ideally something that involved bringing structure to a complicated situation or seeing something through that others might have let slide.
- A two to three minute video introducing yourself. Answer this question: Tell us about a time you stayed on something longer than most people would have. What were you tracking, chasing, or finishing, and what kept you going?
